In the salon you can enjoy, along with refreshments, short performances glimpsing the history of friendship, love, and desire between women.

The performances portray persons of lbt interest, like Södergran, Stein, and Woolf. Visitors too can dress up to imitate a historical role model, and perform quotations of their thoughts that have survived to posterity: writings, journals, poetry, music, etc. For a fee a photographer reproduces digitally your imitation or your face framed within a historical picture (so called tintamaresque).

During the 1980’s lesbian feminism, S/M, ‘stigmatizing’ parties, glamour parties, and lesbian studies left their imprint on the Finnish lesbian community. Which were the decade’s most memorable occasions and worst collective nightmares? Documents from home albums are presented on slides, panelists tune up an open discussion of the times before queer, and DJ plays hit records of the period. Older and younger lbt generations are welcome! In cooperation with Asenne-F and Granny Valley.

The workshop is suited to all keen on drawing. Croquis type drawings are first made after a female model and are then worked into a collage. Bring your own equipment: an A3 drawing block, permanent felt-tipped pens in different thickness, 6B pencils, scissors, paper glue, and a stiff cardboard (optionally also coloured pencils, felt-tipped pens, and crayons). A compact series of photographs intended to counterbalance the more visible imagery of gay men and stylized, clichéd lesbian looks found in both glbt and mainstream media. The women couples are portrayed in self-chosen locations, in their everyday appearance and surroundings. Photos are accompanied by texts written or chosen by the women, and which have been inspired either by the photo itself or by the surroundings in which it was taken.
